Leopoldo Marechal was an Argentine poet, novelist, and critic from Buenos Aires, best known for his philosophically-oriented novels. Marechal's publishing career began when he was 22 years old. Los Aguiluchos contained poems written in an avant-garde alternative to Jorge Luis Borges.
