Mikhail Zagoskin was a Russian writer. Author of social comedies, historical novels. His notable works includes: «Roslavlev, or Russians in 1812» (A historical novel influenced by Walter Scott, 1831); «Moscow and Moscovites» (A collection of stories, 1842–1850); «The Three Suitors».
