Ascásubi Hilario (1807—1875)

Argentine poet born in the back of a horse drawn cart while his mother was on her way to a wedding in Buenos Aires. It seemed that nature herself said that Ascasubis life would be one of travel and adventure. In 1821 he boards a ship heading to France, the ship is hijacked and diverted to Lisbon. He escapes and goes to France where he lives for two years.In the 1820s he joins the military and fights Brazil. He then fights in the Argentine cival war form which he becomes an exile to Montevideo where he writes poetry and also runs a bakery shop.In 1843 publishes "El gaucho Jacinto Cielo con doce números" and in 1846 publishes Paulino Lucero. Dies in Buenos Aires of an intestinal problem.(1875)
